The USA Track & Field Dakotas Association (ND and SD) is sponsoring a Road Racing Circuit this year. Runners competing will earn points toward Road Runner of the Year awards by age categories.
You might ask, What is USATF? It is the national governing body of USA Track and Field, Road Running and Race Walk.
The series of road races is going to be held in Fargo, Valley City, Aberdeen, Brookings, Watertown,Sioux Falls and the Black Hills area.
You will be required to compete in four races to qualify for Road Runner of the Year honors. The races will vary from 5K to a ½ marathon.
Only two of the races can be the 5K distance. You may run in more than two 5K races and the best of those will be used to calculate your
points. During the series, points will be tabulated after each race to determine standings. Awards will be given to the top three in
each age group. To be eligible, one must be a member of USATF. This can be done at http://www.USATF.org.
If you are a member of USATF Minnesota, and currently a member of LAP, you ARE eligible. We would need to be notified of those
memberships so we can keep correct standings. If you are not a member of USATF, you can join on line and become a
member of the Dakotas Association whether you live in ND or MN.
Questions can be directed to Myron Loberg: ml@ez-step.com or 701-540-5437.
Thanks for your interest and support in the Dakotas Road Racing circuit.
