Meeting Minutes, January 8, 2008

MINUTES

New to the Board: Jenny Aune-Secretary, Shawn Schatz-Treasurer, Lamot Miller - Member at large

Membership: 258 members

Membership Fee’s: Membership will last until December 31st unless the person registers at the Red River Run or after, then it will last the remainder of that year plus the entire next year.

Newsletter: Lee Hoedl. Lee will take any help he can get. Lee also updates the website. Board Members and Meeting Minutes need to be updated.

Valentine’s Day Race: Season’s Restaurant @ Rose Creek Golf Course; February 9th, 10am. Registration starts at 9am. $7 for Members/$5 for Non-Members. Jenny developed the flyer and will get it printed and taken to locations. Monica will order box of paint chalk. LAP shirts will be given to all registered runners

St. Patrick’s Day Race: @ Island Park Cycles; March 15th, 10am. Registration 8-9:30am race day. Pre-registration $18 for members/$20 for non-members. Race day registration $25 for all.

Shirts-Steve Wenzel brought a sample of the shirt. LAP needs to be placed at the top of the design. It will be a black long sleeve BOA brand tech shirt.

Advertising: Tom Smith will talk to Dave Anderson about coordinating the parade with the race and Ellen Schafer about advertising ideas. Jenny will contact the newspaper. Jenny will develop a flyer with registration slip on it and get it printed for all to distribute.

Course: Need to talk with Dave Anderson about coordinating with the parade and finishing on Broadway. Accurate measurement is needed. Police or EVAC will be needed for 4th and 2nd intersections. Lack of bathrooms is a concern. Kid’s race will be an out and back on Broadway for a 1k. Free to register. Ribbons to all that participate.

Food: Brenda will contact Great Harvest for bread; Jenny will contact grocery stores for fruit. We will need to get water. Coffee will be provided.

Timing: Chip timing will be used. Dale will contact to see what time frame we need for the pre-registration cutoff. Brenda will send pre-registration file to company. We will need to provide 3 extra people to help with timing.

Awards: LAP towel to top 3 in each division. Door Prizes from Island Park and DBRC. Jenny will get New Years Results to the Newspaper, get a club membership set up at Office Max and contact Convention/Visitor’s Bureau about bags/giveaways.
