MINUTES
Membership:
Brenda wasn’t sure what totals were.
Treasurer:
Shawn was introduced. Ray Bauske’s name is being taken off the list
of check signers and Jenny Aune will be added.
Newsletter:
Lee Hoedl asked for any article ideas. Monica is recommending an article
on water to Kathy and nominated Shawn to do an article on the Marathon
movie for the next newsletter. Jenny had a quote from The Print Shoppe
for printing of the newsletter.
Website:
Need to update the date on Membership link. Also need to
update the Group Runs link. Monday group runs at DBRC, 6:30pm. Tuesday
group runs at Beyond Running, 6:30pm. Thursday group runs at Scheel’s,
6:15pm. Any others? Add a link of routes to run. Lapy link-remove
newsletter but keep doing membership and races. Add triathlon info.
RACES
Hawley
Triathlon: Darrin
Eisinger asked for support from LAP for his Hawley Triathlon. He is
looking for volunteers to help at the race, promoting and timing.
He is looking at Saturday, June 28th or July 12th right now.
Valentine’s
Day Race: Season’s Restaurant @ Rose Creek Golf Course; February
9th, 10am. Registration starts at 9am. $7 for Members/$5 for Non-Members.
Forecasted cold temperatures will make us start everyone together.
Cheese sandwiches and tomato soup will be served again. Course will
be cleared by the park district. Monica will mark the course that
morning. Dale and Brenda will be timing and Linda will be cooking.
St. Patrick’s
Day Race: @ Island Park Cycles; March 15th, 10am. Registration
8-9:30am race day. Pre-registration $18 for members/$20 for non-members.
Race day registration $25 for all.
Race Bags: Jenny
got 500 bags from FM Athletic Commission for race packets.
Advertisement:
Flyers are printed and being taken around town. Jenny will contact
Erin at 105.1 for radio advertising. Marilyn will contact KVLY.
Prizes: Island
Park will donate several hundred dollars in prizes and DBRC will
donate 2 pair of shoes, gift certificates and misc. prizes.
Pre-registration:
Pre-registration will be set up in the front room of IPC. DBRC and
IPC staff will be willing to help out.
Course Development:
Tom Smith and Steve Wenzel will help with set-up, paint on course,
and provide bikers for race day. Sand bags may be needed by the
MHD snow piles due to thaw/freeze.
Finish Line:
Finish line will be on Broadway. Tom Smith will talk to Dave Anderson
about road closures and see if their police officers can help us
out too. We are not using EVAC. Tom seems to think we will be able
to close Broadway curb to curb. We need to find power for the timer
at the finish line or he can bring a generator.
Kid's Race:
Kid’s race will be on Broadway.

had a sample of the LAP towel that will be given away.
Race Timing:
Dale will find out how many people the timing company needs for
help.
Packet Stuffing:
We will be stuffing bags at Island Park the Thursday before the
race, 5:30 pm.
