Meeting Minutes, March 3, 2008

MINUTES

1. Approved Brian Kinsey as new Vice President

2. Handed out; Job Titles, Race Director Pamphlet, and By-laws of LAP

3. Membership; trying to get LAP members to pay their membership dues early in the year. If your membership has expired, it will be stated so on the LAP newsletter mailing label.

4. Treasurer’s report – none

5. LAP newsletter sent out 3/5/08

6. Web site updated

7. New Business

A. Marathon Expo – Mark Rice said he will work there, however need more people to man/ woman the booth some of the time.

B. Extra shirts – Beyond Running (Brian) mention an idea that they would be willing to sell some of the shirts at their store. Dale moved to sell shirts to interested schools for their track/ cross country teams. Motion passed.

C. Earth Day Race- Agreed to advertise at the two running stores but not sponsor, donate, or run the race.

D. Life Time Membership- Discussed and then moved to table the idea.

E. Volunteers at races- Discussed what to do for people who volunteer at a race and run in the same race. Decided to leave as is, just the volunteers not running will receive a free shirt or something.

F. Ribbons for St. Pat’s kids race- Decided to have Monica order more ribbons.

G. Timing Clock - Moved and passed to allow; Beyond Running, Bick Beardsley Running Company, and Island Park Cycles to use the LAP clock free of charge for races if it is not already rented out for that time.

H. Other- Tom Smith told the group that the police would lead the St. Pat’s Race down Broadway and then backward from the New Years Day 5 K Race. Tom also said he would take care of finding more bathroom facilities nearby, and locate more parking areas.
